Ken Griffith started Clinch Mountain Communications in 2006 to offer website development and hosting services to people, businesses and organizations in Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee.
I have clients in Washington, Lee, Scott, Wise, Russell, Dickenson, Buchanan and Tazewell counties, as well as in Bristol, Kingsport and Johnson City, Tennessee.
I taught myself computer programming as a boy in the the 1980's on a Commodore 64 computer. At Virginia Tech in the early 1990's I started working with computer networks, and created my first website a couple of years after the world wide web was created.
In the years since then I have built and managed websites large and small for all kinds of clients, ranging from financial services companies, to mom and pop shops.
I started Clinch Mountain Communications in Southwest Virginia because I enjoy the natural beauty of this region where I grew up and wanted a way to use my skills to work from my home near the Holston River.
Given that I am more of a computer coder than an artist, Ben Lueders graciously lends his illustration, graphic design and music composition skills to my team.
Ben has his own free-lance design gig at fruitful-design.com (designed by Ben Lueders, coded by Ken Griffith).
His illustration experience ranges from drawing sea creatures for the Hawaii Coral Reef Initiative, to illustrating science textbooks, to logo design and commercial advertising. (He also did the Clinch Mountain Communications logo at the top of this page.)
Ben just got married to the lovely Megan in May, 2010, so he's really happy and it shines through in his work.
